Inquiry

Description: every Thursday we do inquiry. There are 7 inquiry groups. I'm in 3D printing with James and we have been doing jewellery. I made a robot and now in am goi g to print it.

I am inspiring people to make stuff with 3D printers and to make the 3D printed sutures into toys of jewellery.

To make thing your self and not download thing off the 3D wearhouse that's not yours

What did you accomplish? I made something but it's not printed
What was the most frustrating/ challenging thing? What difficulties did you encounter? Getting the parts to other parts and trying to print my creashon
What was your proudest moment in your inquiry? Getting my work done and trying to print my work

 • the title is really cool and it sounds interesting. The title makes me want to read it and it seems like he gets in lots of trouble.

• I think the cover of the book is weird and I don't really like it.

• the blerb makes me want to read the book and the blerb is very interesting.

Description: in maths we've been multiplication and division. I think in better at multipcation.



Big idea: problem1. I used a number line for this problem and I counted in 5's 30 with a R1to and a number line to help me. Problem2. I used a hundreds board and a number line to help me.

Production portfolio sample 2015

Description: every Friday we make our wereillebal arts. There are 3 themes and that are elements, heroes and villains and, out of Africa. I'm in out of Africa with Kate. This is about the production russell street school are doing. Our production is all about life. What I've done for wearbill arts it the tail, helmet spear and smock. And what I need to do is paint my helmet

1) The materials that I used to create my garment were: paper masha, masking tape, paint, duck tape. Fabric, cardboard.

2) The most challenging thing about production for me was: doing the paper masha.

3) One way I demonstrated a growth mindset during production was: working really hard.

Description: in reading we are learning to Summurise and question. So in reading time we do tic tac toe and I was doing autocorrect humanity. I'm in summering and it helped me Summurise.

Shark attack

I think this guy is very lucky because he didn't get bit or a scratch on him. It would of been scary for him. He was in South Africa in a surfing contest. Nearby rescue boats came to get him out the water. He started screaming when the shark came.

BOB TAKES OVER

Description: in writing we have been learning conjunctions. 



  big idea:                                                
One Day in 1915 there were two people called Max and James. They invent lots of stuff and one day they made a time traveler. So James tested it out and it time traveled him to 2015. then  an evil hacker called Bob was sitting in his treehouse on his chair. He linked his computer to James and Max's time traveler and creped James in 2015 then sent the time traveler back to max. Then max went in the time traveler max and came to 2015 and saved James.Then This BIG VERY BIG robot came and tried kill us then max and James heard a scream "OH NO BRO HELP ME NOW!" said the voice inside the robot.

Max and James went to their underground lab and got bazookas and blew the robot up
CA-BOOOOOOOM. Then max and James saw some "hi what's your name" said James "hi I'm Logan" said Logan "I should give you some battle armor" said James. "AWESOME DUDE!" Said Logan then James made armor for Max and Logan. Then Max, James and Logan fort for the city and fights evil when it comes.

 evaluation: i think i got my action parts really good but i need to work on getting more paragraphs.

Maths sample term 2

description: this term we are doing strategy maths and we are doing addition and subtraction strategies like rounding and compensating, place value and equal additions.

Big idea:
1) $341+$359= 300+300=600 , 600+59=659, 659+40=699,699+1=700

2) $21+$32= 20+30=50 , 50+1=51+2=53

3) $42+$98= 40+90=130 , 130+2=132 132+8=140

4) 159+21= 100+20=120 , 120+59=179

Evaluation: what I did well on my maths because I worked hard on the maths I did. The strategy I used was place value.

Reading tic tac toe


Description: in my reading my goal is comprehension. The book I'm reading is Weir Do.
Big idea: I used my comprehension and thought the character is Weir and some stuff about him is just like me. So in the photo those words are like me and Weir. I am learning to make connections so I know that  A lot of things happen to Weir and they happen to me to.

Evaluation: I know that I'm getting better because I could understand what was the same between Weir and I.
I am good at text to self and text to world because I can see connections between Weir and I and Weir's dad and my dad.
I need to improve on summarising because it is sometimes it hard to explain what I have read. I am good with the book in front of me but not with the book somewhere else.

Success criteria: 
I Put a picture in the readers mind
Use text to text text to self and text to world

I The Catch Me If You Can- Defense


Description:
Every week we learn about skills and movement that will help us play sports. This term’s focus has been around defense. We made a video showing some of the goals we have been practicing. I have highlighted the thing I think I have done well YELLOW and one thing I would like to work on PINK.


Body:
WALT: Defensive skills and movements
Success Criteria:
Body Movement
  • Weight on balls of feet
  • Knees flexed
  • Concentration and eyes on ball, head and eyes up
  • Push hard off outside foot and go forwards to attack pass
  • Quick small feet, stay on balls of feet
  • Arms within confines of body
  • Take feet to ball
  • Land with a SBP
Intercepting
  • Body angled to see player and ball
  • Anticipate pass and player movement
Restrictive Marking
  • Meet player as they start towards the ball/where they want to go
  • stay close to the attacking player
  • Head and eyes up, arms close to body to avoid obstruction/contact
  • Angle body so attacking player is ‘pushed’ away from where he/she wants to go
  • 0.9m from ball carrier

  • Your video/s should be no more than 30secs long.

Te Ahu a Turanga Noho Marae

Description:  In week 7, we had an overnight stay at the local Marae in Woodville.  We were immersed in Maori culture and participated in a range of activities.  We set two goals to focus on during our stay.
Big Idea:  
1.  Did you achieve your goals? Yes. How do you know? Yes I did get to sleep when I was told.

2.  What are you most proud of from the marae stay and why? When I was doing my job because I didn't muck around.

3.  What challenged you the most and why? The waving because I tried hard and I put myself in the pit.

Description: We have been learning about Position and Orientation with Eb. It is a part of our learning about Geometry at maths time.

Story telling

Purpose: create a story to share orally

Description: Oral storytelling is a Maori tradition. We have been planning our own story to tell on the Marae in Week 7.



Success Criteria:
  • Between 1 and 2 minutes long

  • Using your voice to make sounds effects

  • Using your whole body to make actions

  • Use your face to tell a story through facial expression

  • Knowing the story, knowing the setting

  • Get the picture into your listener’s head

  • Stay in character - keep your composure.

  • Audience participation

  • Unique and original (Hook your audience)

My math test 2015

  
This test is about seeing what I know about math. When we finished we marked with a red Pen. Then we went into pairs to highlight with pink for think and go for gold and my pair was Logan. And my goal is to practice in my test the write the word so I need to do it to everyday so I will do write the word everyday and I will tick the "prove it" box.

                             



My swimming goals T 1 2015

For the next 5 weeks, we are swimming 3 times a week. We want to set a SMRAT goal so we are focused when we go swimming. 

I need to practise to get my arms straight and keep my legs straight at the same time and I'm gonna practiced freestyle every time we go swimming.

Evaluation: before my arms were bendy and my leg were bendy but when it was swimming sports my arms and leg were strait.
